LOL Rook getting in/out of a ticket wasn't really my point, just a general tip. Maybe they're tougher in Indiana on no proof... I have known people who've had to go to court for failure to prove (at which point they must show they had insurance when the ticket was issued or face fines and such).
$10 isn't bad but frankly it's difficult to fathom not having (valid) proof of insurance is the reason got you out of a speeding ticket. My guess is the officer cut you a break because you acted politely or some other reason. Or to say, I think you would've walked away without any ticket if you ended up with no speeding ticket.
Historically I've known LEOs to hand out multiple tickets than multiple breaks. For example, I had a buddy who got a speeding ticket and a fine for having a cracked windshield. Or speeding and seatbelt.
Either way, ruined insurance card, lucky day, whatever glad you got out for $10!
